This is not a happy story. It’s about survival and what it means to be hungry and have a disease. The disease is brutal and changes the island. You get weird body parts or lose something or die. This story is brutal and sad. The girls are slowly dying off and only the school and each others. You can’t go out in the forest by yourself. Dark things are out there. The book is a good brutal story. I really liked the world building and the way each character is drawn out. The story is in two povs and you see the whole island for what it is. The book is sad but I enjoyed how unique it was. I haven’t read something like that before so it was an enjoyable book. The story isn’t a happy ending. Just warning you!
