Feminist Lord of the Flies
I read on Bookstagram that this book is like "a feminist 'Lord of the Flies,'" and my interest was piqued, as I was taught "Lord of the Flies" really well in high school, and thus, I enjoy that dark book. I liked the first few pages of the book, but I doubt I will purchase it. Primarily because I am a highly sensitive person, and since having children of my own, it can be hard for me to read violent books involving kids.
However, these few chapters have definitely gotten me interested to find out what happens. I plan on asking a friend who has read this if it gets incredibly violent, and if it isn't too "out there," I plan to get a copy and keep reading! I do think the author is talented, and I am drawn in to the story from the beginning.
