I was drawn to this book by the gorgeous cover. I tend to browse for cool cover art then decide on whether or not I will purchase based on the back cover summary so this novel passed both of my tests. The other reviews definitely touch on many interesting aspects of the story - there are hints of Lord of the Flies in this wonderful feminist take on a survival story. The characters and writing style are equally wonderful and beautiful and the plot is really interesting. There are so many takeaway messages to explore. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and found myself thinking about it long after I closed the cover. I'm going to recommend this book to all my friends and young female family members.
