There's something wrong with the girls on Raxter. They've been infected with something they call the Tox, and relegated to an island (home of their former school) waiting for someone to send a cure.

I really enjoyed this book. Hetty is a great character (sometimes a little clueless but that makes her more believable I think especially since she's a teenager). I'd be remiss if I didn't say that Wilder Girls gave me real Lord of the Flies vibes (more so because I just finished teaching it). I think that's a big compliment since Lord of the Flies is among my favorite books. I liked Power's unique take on creepy crawly horror. It's been a while since I read a decent horror book, and this one made my skin crawl more than once. Also it's rich with Sapphic and feminist plot points. I really appreciated the friendship of the three girls. Definitely recommended.
