I for the most part really enjoyed Wilder Girls! The book is set on an island, where the only inhabitants are a group of girls infected with "the Tox". They have been quarantined to their school for months, girls of all ages dying left and right from the strange infection. When the main character, Hetty's, friend disappears, Hetty decides to brave escape quarantine to try to save her friend.
The characters were quirky and well-rounded, and overall it was well written. I enjoyed the overall concept of the book. It was really unique and a little spooky.
You don't see very many stand alone sci fi books, and to be fair I understand why. I found myself really disappointed that there wasn't going to be anymore books. Personally I felt like the ending of Wilder Girls was left very open and was kind of unsatisfying. I wish that there was going to be more.
