This is possibly one of the best books that I have read this past year. I almost did not even attempt to read it, but since I was given a free copy of it at an event, I decided to give it a try. The plot had many surprises in it and the characters were complex. The only major problem that I had with this novel was the fact that there are three main characters (Hetty, Byatt, and Reese) and the story was only told in the perspectives of Hetty and Byatt. Reese only got a bonus ending! To end this on an extremely positive note, I definitely would recommend this novel to anyone who likes thrills, violence, and gory deaths. I do think that this was a "killer" novel by a debut author and I bet that the next Rory Powers novel will be even more of a wild ride.
