Hmmm. I had heard so many amazing things about this book prior to reading it and unfortunately this book disappointed me. It wasn't a bad book or anything but the execution of what could have been an amazing plot was just subpar. I found the pacing to be inconsistent and the overall flow wasn't great.
My biggest issue with this book was the characters and their lack of development. I also didn't care much for any of them nor could I relate with them. I did like the romance element to it however it wasn't enough of an enjoyment that overcame the rest of the book.
Another issue I had was the ending. I felt that the ending and the climax wasn't...great. In a way, it was the only way for the book to end because of other factors that played into it but it still wasn't a satisfying ending by any means. My least favorite endings are the incomplete ones where you're left off wondering what happened and this was exactly that. It was just not appealing to me at all.
Overall, like I stated, I was disappointed because this book just had a lot of potential and that cover is just so gorgeous. I might be inclined to try another Rory Power's book since this was her debut and I think her writing and story have a lot of potential so I'm definitely curious to see what else she will write (her adult debut sounds really good actually).
