Thanks to Bookishfirst for this ARC. Again, I'm in the minority here in not enjoying this book but that's nothing new.

I claimed this book thinking I would enjoy it since I love to read historical fiction. I got to page 62 and just couldn't get into it. I skimmed the book and sure enough, it was like a deja vu in many ways in other books I've read about people searching things out from the past and finding out things that they didn't know and how it related to them. It wasn't slow per se but something about this book, not sure if it was the back and forth between 2015 where it begins with Sawyer coming from Paris to Chicago going to interview 110 year old Honoree who was a showgirl in Chicago during the 1920s. He thinks she may know about a maybe rare film he found in his grandmother's house. Honoree knew his grandmother and he wants more information from her.
