This book was a page turner if I've ever read one! I didn't expect the plot to surround a mystery, but I absolutely loved it. The vivid imagery and detailed descriptions of the Jazz Age was a pleasure to read. Bryce crafted an elaborate tale that seamlessly interweaved dual timelines, and I am amazed that this is her debut novel. The 1920s is one of my favorite time periods to read about, so I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the music and dance scene during this time. Honoree Dalcour's story was compelling, and the supporting characters were well fleshed out and given their own character depth. I also liked Sawyer's story about trying to finish his grad student thesis and enter the film world. I will say that there were a few unanswered questions that I had at the end of the novel, which I wasn't a huge fan of (I like answers!). However, this was not enough to make this captivating, vibrant read any less than 5 stars. Pick this one up - you will not regret it!
