I really enjoyed this book overall. What I liked about this book is how the story moved along. The story jumps from the perspectives of the two main characters, Honoree and Sawyer. I thought this was extremely well done and the author did a great job of showing how their lives intertwined with each other. I also liked hearing the historical happenings and seeing how that reflected Honoree's present life. While some perspective stories can feel clunky, this one had excellent flow and kept me intrigued throughout. All of the characters grew on me quickly and became very endearing even with their occasional conflicting personalities. It kept me guessing and wanting to root for all of the characters involved to have the best outcome past and present. I think the author did a great job with this historical fiction book. It reminded me of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo in some ways.
