Great Historical Fiction!
Denny S. Bryce took me to the 1920s in Chicago's Black Belt through her latest historical novel, WILD WOMEN AND THE BLUES. It was vibrant and dazzling. I loved learning about the Jazz Age through Honoree Dalcour, the main protagonist.
I enjoyed the style of the dual timeline, 1920 and 2015. It made me want to find the answer, so I kept following this film student's journey. His name was Sawyer Hayes, and he wanted to see the connection between him and Honoree.
I wasn't keen on Honoree initially, but I came to like her after knowing her background story and why she had to hustle and take care of herself. Overall, it has great characters and it was beautifully written. I highly recommend it if you love historical fiction!
Last but not least, the book cover is also beautiful and very Instagrammable. I can't wait to see the author's next book!
