The idea of a book with two different timelines where one kind of delves deeper into the other is a really great one and I've seen it executed only once where I really and truly enjoyed it (The Alice Network). Even with that book, I ended up preferring one timeline over the other and felt like the back and forth kind of cut me off from truly enjoying the book, however I understand the importance of it and what it adds to the story. I just don't know if I'd like reading something like that again. The story seems REALLY great though and the cover is gorgeous so it's definitely one I'd like to at least give a chance before I write off. Also, seeing the 1920s from a different non-Gatsby ish POV will be refreshing and much needed.
