I’m already a fan of Honoree after this excerpt, I think she’s going to be quite a memorable character!
In 2015, a young filmmaker Sawyer shows up to interview Honoree about the 1920s. He’s trying to find out her connection to a particular man. Honoree is 110 years old and may be the only one alive who can answer Sawyer’s questions. There’s also a link between his grandmother and Honoree.
We also get to jump back to the 1920s to see Honoree’s story playing out at jazz clubs.
I will definitely read this, I’m totally invested in this story already.
