This book sucks you in from the beginning and paints a picture making you feel like you were right there with Sawyer. The author does an amazing job describing the characters and the room at the senior living facility. While reading the first chapter I felt like I was in the room with Sawyer and the nurse.
I liked that it switches in time between Sawyer now and Honoree in 1925. I enjoy timelines that tell past events in flashbacks like that. The author also changes writing styles to match the character the chapter is about, which adds to the feel of becoming that person.
