This story read like fiction, but was non-fiction! The memoir’s plot/story was captivating to say the least. Brodeur has a real talent for making nonfiction read like fiction, and I couldn't put it down. The story is about a dysfunctional mother and daughter relationship. At 14 years old, she becomes part of her mother’s affair. She helps her mother, but also for selfish reasons so that she can be closer to her mother. I could not put the novel down to see what would happen next. It was a quick and easy read! I felt sometimes like it was so personal that I should not be reading it. It was almost like I feel if I was reading someone’s diary or journal. This novel reminded me of the novel called “The Glass House.” Overall, I would recommend this novel.
