Good girls should and should not do certain things but it certainly is fun to watch forbidden things unfold. I’m hooked and must see how the mother shares her adventure with the daughter and what lasting affect that will have. All girls must experience the first real kiss and the first forbidden touch and the feelings that accompany those events are remembered forever.
The mother~daughter relationship is a complicated one. Closeness is desired but a young daughter still needs a Mommy more than a friend. Time will tell.
The author gives a vivid description of the setting for the dinner party. I could practically smell the garlic as Marian prepared the special dinner. She is confident chef but must be hiding insecurities and neediness or she would not have reacted so intensely to Ben. So many people could be hurt by her giving in to her own needs. Where or where will this book take me. I need to know!
