This is one of those books that stays with you long after you finish reading it. I can relate to a strained relationship with family members, and reading about Adrienne and Malabar made me relate to Adrienne's struggles. What a terrible position to be in, especially at such a young age. And you can see how her mother's affair and her involvement impacted her later in life, too. One thing I particularly enjoyed was the writing style. It was beautiful. I felt so connected to Adrienne and I think some of that feeling comes from the way she is able to write, to make you feel like you are just as involved as she is. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys memoirs and even to those who don't! It's a must-read.
