Grabs you immediately!
The narrator of this grabs you right away. I love how she describes the dynamic of the family immediately like you're sitting at the table watching Charles bring home dinner to her mom. How you can tell the dynamic of the daughter and mother not even needing to speak and how they communicate with just looks. I love that it shows the mother is human, that she boasts about the meal she made and that her daughter catches her gushing over another man when she's on her second marriage. You really get a feel for the relationship with the mother sneaks into the room to tell her about the kiss- the friendship of the two of them rather than the mother daughter dynamic even at a young age. There are no boundaries. I can't wait to finish this book.
