An Important Journey
At 14, Rennie is shaken awake in the middle of the night by her mother with five life altering words: "Ben Souther just kissed me." And just like that Rennie is placed in the thick of her mother's affair as her confidant and scapegoat. At first, Rennie loves the attention and time her mother is giving her, but over the years she comes to realize the unhealthy effects of her mother's decision to involve her.
Adrienne's journey was incredible; the separation of herself from her mother, learning to draw necessary boundaries in order to lead a life of her own after untangling herself from her mother's web of deceit and manipulation.
Fundamentally relatable in that we all go though a separation from parents as we find our independence going into adulthood, and establishing boundaries in every relationship.
