A great book about a complicated topic

I was ambivalent about this book but I was quickly enthralled with the story. A quick read but a relevant novel. My heart went out to the author for the majority of the book. Her story is a complicated one and normally our relationships with Mother's are fraught enough. I had to remind myself that the novel was true multiple times but it reads like fiction. I felt like a member of the family and the characters were real enough that I was left wanting more.

From California to the sunny beaches of the North East, this book is about a heavy topic but is fit to be read at the beach, on a plane, and everywhere in between.
