Messed up ... but I can't look away

Superb detail. Twisted childhood. Backward parent/child relationships. My first impression is that this story is one that won't soon be forgotten. The author does a tremendous job describing the setting, sketching the characters, then hitting hard with poignant sentence that makes you realize all the ways this young woman has to grow up all-too-quickly.
