Interesting insight on a complex relationship

The story draws you right in as if you are a friend visiting. I like how Rennie and her mother, Malabar, are a well blended contrast to each other. The setting is beautiful with deliciously described food and interesting people. I liked how the story delivers the information, it is shared as if you are in a friendship with the story teller. You learning new things as your relationship grows, little bits here and there sprinkled into the story.

The cover is well done and supports the location and focal point on the main character.
