To be fair, I did not finish this book. I could not get into it, nor did I care for any of the wives in this book. I enjoyed the fast paced writing-- for the parts I read-- the plot just wasn't moving the way I wanted. My biggest problem with the writing was the stereo type for the police officer. We all know the cliches for cops that are used in writing. These are just not my favorite ways to write police characters. I gave the book 75 pages before finally putting it down.
I wound up giving the book to my sister and she read it instead! She enjoyed it, but did not love it. So I was happy that I did not follow through with the book. I do love Viola Davis, so I may have to see the movie if they change some of the plot points.
