This is my first Linda La Plante book I've read. I enjoyed it. The "Widows" three woman who lost their husbands during a heist that went wrong. The leaders widow, Dolly decides to continue and finish the job and bring in the other two widows. They have to outsmart the mobsters that want to take away something that her husband left her and at the same time try to not get caught by the police who has had their eyes on them for many years. I didn't particularly care for Detective Resnick's attitude but can see how it worked well into the story. The twist and turns with a cast of strong female characters, each with different personalities, had me laughing at times. This story kept me engaged and wrapped up nicely.
