LaPlante's follow up novel "Widow's Revenge" was quite the surprise. I expected what the plot would be and also expected how things would develop and play our between the women and the plans. Golly, was I ever surprised. This follows the original story but the author is extremely careful to ensure that all her readers are fully aware of the complete prior history in case they did not read the previous novel. This was not done in a textbook way but presented in a very easy story line format that allowed the reader to continue without needing to read the first book if one had not already read it. The old and tired stories of revenge are nowhere to be seen here. This was truly an enjoyable book with many laugh out loud lines.
