Dolly, Linda, Shirley and Bella return in this second widows book. This time, they are back in London, trying to protect their ill-gotten gains from Harry Rawlins who is determined to get his own vengeance against them. In the first book, they took over Harry’s robbery plans after his plans went awry. With the money, they are able to travel, plan cosmetic surgery and form new relationships. All in put in jeopardy though when Harry finds out where the money is hidden and Dolly has to rush to move it and protect everyone from Harry again. Once the ruthless widows find out that Harry is planning another heist, they once again make plans to thwart him and take the plunder. Dolly Rawlins was definitely featured in the first book; however, in this installment, she does not seem as strong. We find out more about Bella and Shirley and have a lot of sympathy for Linda, the weak link in their chain. Harry is just as disliked as in the first book since he has no scruples about using and tossing aside anyone in his way. Harry teams up with a handsome and magnetic Micky Tesco who plays a large role in the plot. The book was entertaining, but in some ways very sinister. Whereas the first book had me laughing aloud, this one had me gasping at the horror of some of the scenes. Fans of the first widows book will enjoy this one, but it is very different from the original one. Readers who enjoy a good thriller will enjoy it, but be aware that some scenes are graphically described.
