Having read Prime Suspect I’m up to reading Lynda La Plante’s grocery list. Widows Revenge opening doesn’t disappoint. You can begin to see the convergence of characters in just these 18 pages. Having not read the first Widows/Dolly Rawlings # 1 I suppose the movie would be in order or elevate Widows to the top of my tbd.
Not much to give away other than Dolly has stepped into her dead/but not quite dead husband’s theft ring. The setting is in both England and in Rio during the 1980’s.
Enjoy the writing style is crisp. Each character has his or her own voice. Both in an aural sense but also in affectations. Not enough in this first chapter to decide where this thriller will go but I know it will be an enjoyable ride.
