I'd try this one even though i didn't like the first book

To be clear: I hated the first book. Way too slow and I gave up on it. But the movie revitalized my interest in this story, so I would give this book a try. The First Look is interesting, intriguing, and full of the same nicely-written dialogue as the first book. I just hope it isn't as slow as the first book.
