I found this story unique, and it kept me interested the whole time. It introduced me to some new Korean mythology. It was also my first time reading a book with gumiho, and I really liked how they were incorporated into the story. I loved the character development for Miyoung and Jihoon, although my favorite character would have to be Jihoon’s grandmother. In my opinion, the way the romance was developed could have been better (it just didn’t feel completely right to me), but I appreciated the small moments between Miyoung and Jihoon - my favorite being the scene where Jihoon lends Miyoung his earbuds, very smart and I hadn’t considered that before.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book but the writing style didn’t completely resonate with me. I would like to continue the series one day; however, that day probably won’t be particularly soon.
