This book, featuring a 17-year old protagonist Miyoung, is a mix of modern day k-drama and ancient korean mythology. It's something we haven't seen in YA fantasy, so that alone made this story really appealing.
The story is about Miyoung, a beautiful gumiho (nine tailed fox) who feeds on the souls of men to survive. However, she only feeds on criminals. Then, she meets a boy named Jihoon, who develops an interest in Miyoung. He pursues a friendship despite her resistance and the strengths of both of their walls are testing as they are both thrown together and drawn to one another throughout the story.
Both characters are nicely developed, both likable and flawed, and I found myself rooting for their love as well as Miyoung's redemption.
