I loved Wicked Fox! Something about this book just clicked with me. I thought the romance was cute and subtle. And I loved the aspects of Korean magic in modern day Seoul. The characters were charming and they felt pretty well developed. There were themes of family and the way people sacrifice for those they love.

Miyoung is a nine tailed fox, and she ends up making friends with a shaman and a human boy who she saves. Together they uncover both buried family histories and their own abilities. I definitely want to read the sequel, Vicious Spirits.

I will say that I found the writing style to be a bit slow. The romance is definitely slow burn. It’s cute while still being a bit dark. I’m good with that slowness but there were times where I was like, “let’s go find some plot, people.”

All in all this was lovely. Seoul is such a great background for urban fantasy. And the characters were great.
