Wicked Fox by Kat Cho surprised me so much, I did not expect to love it as much as I do! It follows Gu Miyoung, a gumiho, who loses her fox bead - that she needs to survive - during a fight with a goblin. She tries to restore it by the next full moon but ends up in the centre of an old family-feud endangering not only herself but Jihoon as well - the boy she finds herself drawn to even though gumihos should avoid humans. This book has such amazing characters that I fell in love with which is the main reason I loved the book so much! It deals with a lot of family issues that were so interesting to read about and led to my heart breaking a few times which isn't something that usually happens in fantasy so it was really nice. As well as that though the plot was so unique and made me want to keep reading, there were also a few twists that I didn't see coming so I was constantly being surprised! And in between there were stories that explained the mythology behind the gumiho which is something I love in books as mythology is something I find incredibly interesting! It's set in Seoul (for most of it) and after reading about the characters visiting places there it's now a place I would love to visit so I can see the places for myself! I would say this book is definitely a contender for my favourite book of the year
