Slightly predictable and the two main characters lacked a certain intensity I love when it comes to soulmate type connections. I don't read many Korean novels and being immersed in the mythology was very intriguing to me and kept me moving forward. I even did a little light Google reading on Gumihos (kumihos) and their fox stories. Honestly, I just love lore and every time it was mentioned I was like a little kid ready for story time. The author did a great job of tying these elements into the book.

I will have to agree with some of the other reviewers that the first portion of this book is such a swift and captivating read but it doesn't continue in that manner and the ending leaves a good bit to be desired. I'm doubtful I'll await book 2. Overall it was fun to read about another culture's mythology and learn something excitingly new in my world. I'm glad I read the book just for that experience alone.
