Honestly, from the very first line, I didn’t think that I would really enjoy the excerpt. The writing style is definitely less flowing, and flowery than I am used to, and it’s not necessarily a bad thing, but description is a necessary part of world building. Because of the short cut, simpler, sentences, the atmosphere felt a little less real. And personally, I don’t like the use of different languages in books casually, because it almost makes the conversation a little forced, like, hey this person is Korean and do NOT forget that fact! all the time. The first couple times I think it is okay, so that we know their ethnicity, but it was overdone. I would still be willing to finish the book.
