A Popular Mix of Fantasy and Contemporary Students

I thought the cover was attractive, and the book's mix of fantasy with regular contemporary high school students will probably make it a popular book for middle grade and some high school readers. One aspect of the writing that I like is the weaving of actual Korean life (foods, responsibilities of an eldest son, respect for grandparents, pressure to do well in school) with the fantasy characters. I am not sure that the preview pages were enough for me to determine if this particular fantasy is one I want to read.
