Throughout my life I have experienced symptoms of high anxiety and depression. In the last few years I was put into repeated frightening situations that turned my baseline (somewhat manageable) anxiety into C-PTSD. While seeking treatment for this, I began taking medication and felt for the first time like something had clicked. It took nearly 3 decades for me to take these steps because I had not realize my experiences were not "normal". A book like this would have been so helpful for me in my late teens to early 20s, especially as I was obtaining my degree in Psychology. I will say that this book is heavy on the scientific lingo and may intimidate some readers, but I think it is worthwhile. A huge part of having anxiety (and often comorbid depression) is the shame that comes with it. Learning about the biological causes of anxiety is helpful.

As someone who is finally fully beginning her journey to work through C-PTSD and anxiety that has taken root in a very deep place, I'd love to read the rest of this book.
