This story is about what happens when a guy named Ickey Jerusalem, a poet laureate, is found dead in a locked first-class toilet on an arriving red-eye flight. Insurance investigator Ded Smith is called in to investigate the poet's death. Ded soon realizes that in order to find out what happened he has to get into the dead poet's mind. This leads to a crazy ride through the world of poetry, philosophy, and Jerusalem's strange acquaintances. There are plenty of twists and turns and things that you will not see coming. If you are a fan of mysteries you will enjoy this strange and hilarious ride. The characters are well-written and definitely bring a lot of humor to the story. Yes, at times it is ridiculous but that is kind of what helps make this work. While there are a lot of references to William Blake’s poetry and artwork, you do not need to be a Blake fan to gather what is happening. All in all, I found it a clever story that had just the right amount of mystery, humor, and sarcasm.
