I'm not really sure if I'm supposed to know William Blake poetry in order to understand this book because to be honest, i didn't get it. The murder itself was interesting but I'm not sure there was a need for all the sex. The sense of humor was just off and I felt uncomfortable at some of the descriptions, especially where he goes on forever comparing a woman to a cow. I don't know if he was just trying to shock but i don't feel it added to any of the story really. It was also long and took me forever to finish. He could have cut out two hundred pages and still had the same result. The book needed some major editing.

I was told in the beginning of the book that I don't need to know William Blake poetry in order to understand it but I felt like there was a lot missing for me since I didn't really know any of his work. Maybe those who do would better enjoy this book.
