First off, I don't really like the cover, though objectively I understand the theme it is going for. It is not something that would catch my attention or make me think that this is a book I would like. But I guess it is accurate in that depiction because from the first-look I don't like it. I honestly didn't expect that I would though, simply from the tagline and synopsis. The writing also isn't great for me, the narrative voice seemingly at odds with the content in a way. It feels forced, like it's trying too hard. And the plot and characters themselves are also not relatable nor appealing to me. I'm sure there's an audience out there for this one, as there is a reader for every book, but it's just not me.
