I had a hard time with this one
I have been obsessed with the subject of diving horses ever since Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken came out. So, when I heard about this book, I knew I had to have it. Unfortunately, this one didn't hold my attention the way I hopes it would.
The jumping of POV's from certain time frames jarred me and sometimes, I skimmed in order to get to Two Feather's story. I did enjoy the setting but got lost in the subplots (some if it didn't make sense to me) I feel like the story got bogged down with too many storylines and it took away from the heart of the story. The ending also left a lot to be desired.
I did enjoy the writing and reading the thoughts of the animals. Maybe if I went in thinking differently I would have enjoyed it more. For now, I think people will enjoy it and learn a bit or two about the true history of diving horses and their riders.
Thank you to Bookishfirst for the arc
