When Two Feathers Fell From the Sky is an interesting read. Historical fiction, the story is set in the Glendale Zoo/Park in Nashville in the 1920's, which is interesting. It also delves into the past. The park was built over a Native American cemetery. Two Feathers is a horse diver, a dangerous but exciting job. She is injured when a sinkhole opens beneath the diving tank during one of her performances. There are ghosts. One, Little Elk, plays an important role in the story.
Some things are never clarified. Did someone tamper with the tank? We know someone was there and did something, but could that have caused the sinkhole? Jack Older isn't fleshed out enough to understand why he acted as he did. A little more background there would have helped the story, I think.
The cover art is fantastic! The fonts, the girl on the diving horse, the bright colors! These would definitely draw any reader to the book.
