The first chapter is like my least favorite way to start a book off... a mini history lesson that goes on for four pages. I skipped it to see if the story after was worth getting to. Horse diving is an interesting subject I'd never heard of before, but the writing is just okay. There might be a supernatural element? I'd give it a shot.
