When Apricots Bloom by Gina Wilkinson is about three very different women whose lives interconnect in ways that are life-changing. All takes place during Hussain ruled Iraq. Ally is an American-Australian hiding her full true identity while live in Iraq with her diplomat husband. Huda and Rania were childhood friends but stopped speaking after tragedy affects them during the oppostion. The book is full of suspense and beauty all at the same time. LIfe then is unimaginable to me. Gina Wilkinson pulls on life experience from when she lived there during that same time and became friends with her own Huda whose life circumstances forced her to spy rather than be true friends with the author. I loved the different viewpoints throughout the book and felt that everything was described so well I could really imagine what i was seeing and hearing.
