This book is such an honest and vulnerable story that started with a chance encounter between dog lovers. Martha Teichner shares how she met a woman named Carol and her bull terrier Harry through a mutual acquaintance. Carol has cancer and needs to find someone who will love Harry like their own, flaws and all. Martha has some hesitation about it because of her opinionated bull terrier Minnie. However the doggy courtship turns out better than anyone could have hoped for. It also leads to many friendships that Martha wished she had more time with. This story will have you in years, laughing, and saying "aww!" probably more times than you will be willing to admit out loud. I am so thankful that Celadon sent me a copy, because I loved every page. Even the sad but content ending that I most definitely did not expect. This is going to be a favorite nonfiction book for many dog lovers in 2021!
