Made me cry, twice

I originally thought this was going to be a romance, and a book about two dogs, but its actually a memoir and much deeper than that. I cried not once but twice in this book, the first time for the expected and the second for the unexpected. So, you know, be prepared for that. I love the writing and Martha is just a fantastic storyteller, so I was pulled in right from the start.

I am not usually one to read memoirs, but this read more like a story than about all the hardships in one's life, and its amazing how close Martha and Carol got in such a short amount of time! I know how it feels to wish to have more time with a person, while also feeling like you've known each other for forever.

In short, I loved this book and it gave me hope but also a lot of sadness. You never know the stories people will share with you, or the ones you might be apart of, and even the briefest of encounters can shake up your whole life. The title of this book might be a bit misleading considering this book is about more than Harry and Minnie, theyre just the first domino in a whole row of dominos that led to one of the most poignant parts of Marthas life. Well done.
