I am very impressed with this story! It is not very long and the dogs on the cover are not the most photogenic so I was a little hesitant to read it but I thought I would give it a try anyways. And I am glad I did. The story has two parts, that of the friendship between Martha and Carol and how it is connected by their two dogs Minnie and Harry. Carol is dying of cancer and is looking for someone who loves bull terriers and would be willing to adopt Harry (despite his older age and various medical issues). Martha grows to love both Harry and Carol and that is where the emotional heartbreak comes in because I, as the reader came to love them too. This book really hit me emotional but I still loved it, coming to know the wonderful woman that Carol was and the quirky lovable Harry. Bull terriers are not my favorite dog but I like them better now after reading this book.
