This book was extremely cute and a heartwarming memoir. While I usually steer away from memoirs for the most part, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I liked the details that were put into the setting in this book. Both of the women in the story lived in New York City. As someone who has always been intrigued by New York City, I loved getting a glimpse into what being a New Yorker looked like as well as what it looked like living there. I enjoyed the look into what two successful women living in New York City was like even if I cannot necessarily relate to it for the most part as a millennial in a smaller city. Also, while this book was centered around the dogs, I loved seeing the friendship between the women develop on their journey to help their dogs bond with each other.
Overall, I would recommend this book for the dog lover in your life as well as someone who is looking for a good story with an emotional journey. I would not have chosen this book on my own, but am extremely thankful for Celadon Books and BookishFirst for giving an advance copy in exchange for my review.
