Not for Me, but Not a "Bad" Book

I am not Jewish, so I'm questioning if this is a very practical book for me. I think I would need a stronger understanding of the religion and practices to really take something meaningful from this book. From what I'm gathering from other reviews, many are looking forward to this book after some time away from their practice or as a way to amplify their observations.

That being said, I think this excerpt of the book was well-written, thoughtful, and uplifting. I didn't personally take much from it, but it was a pleasant read. I have no doubt that it will be useful to the right reader.

The most concerning aspect of this book for me, unfortunately, is the front cover. Covers with just a person looking at me, especially when it turns out to be the author, do not grab my attention online or in a physical bookstore; in fact, they do quite the opposite. This also appears to be almost a "green screen" type of cover, with the author dropped against a simple hunter-green backdrop with no additional artistry added. Even if the book were perfect for me, it would be hard for me to realize that if I were just browsing books for my next purchase.
