What Big Teeth by Rose Szabo is a book that can't easily be explained. Much like We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. What Big Teeth is simply one that needs to be read, to be fully understood. But, in the best way I can, it is a YA fantasy novel that reads like a weird trip with monsters that appear to range from werewolves to octopus creatures. Basically Eleanor Zarrin has spent 8 years away from her monstrous family, and has returned due to some "incident." But upon her arrival, nothing is quiet as it seems, as she tries her best to fit into the messed up puzzle that is her enigmatic family.
I went into this book with high hopes that it would somewhat be like This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab, aka one of my favorite books of all time. But I was sadly wrong, as it read more like a monstrous and weird We Were Liars, without the fire of course. But with the same amount of mystery.
We recommend if you want a book that is completely enigmatic, go for it.
