This book is seriously so good; it is a perfect gothic fantasy! The cover art is to die for and really gives this book a fun but ultra-creepy feel. I absolutely loved it!
This story focuses on Eleanor Zarrin. For years she has seen or talked to her family and so she decides to leave the boarding school she has been placed in trying to look for her home. When she gets there she realizes that her family is not what she remembered them to be; they seem to be a bit wilder than she wants to admit to herself. While there she has to figure out how to fit in and what the meaing of what family is.
This is one of those hauntingly weird but really beautiful stories that does not shy away from the weird. By reading Eleanor's story we watch her accept and embrace all the quirks of herself and her family, in turn, helping us do the same in our own strange and quirky lives and families.
